The Authenticity of Our Generation

What is the true roll of our generation?  We were born thinking we had it all figured out. In fact, as time went by we thought technological development would be the answer to everything. We never imagined it would be the cause of over-exploitation and environmental depletion of all natural resources as well as destruction of many ecosystems around the world.

Today we represent a transition from a generation based on family values and faith, to a generation who questions these principles and values and looks towards a more scientific and technological direction. Energy based spirituality has come to replace religion and faithful beliefs. We were lucky enough to live part of that world were everything seemed steady and peaceful, a world were hunger and violence together with the “red” politics represented the true challenge. Human societies have always seen each other as enemies by trying to accomplish different political and economic systems. Today we face a new a battle where the real challenge is preserving our planet by recognizing how human “business as usual” activities have damaged our environments by threatening thousands of species of disappearing while others weren’t lucky enough to survive.

It is a challenge to our generation as we need to represent the change in social psychology and  be able to pass it on to further generations. Upcoming generation will have less difficulty adapting to these changes as they will be brought up with these principles and won’t see it all as an obligation. For them it will by a natural step for human survival and environmental preservation responsibility.
